The following day we all took a bus ride, which lasted most of the day, to Daintree National Park where we were treated to a tour through a wonderful lush and beautiful rain forest by a well informed local guide.

We walked along well maintained walkways, and there was also a tower where we climbed up to various levels of the rain forest.

More Rain forest.  The next picture was Stanley Island where we had native Australians as our guides showing us the various plants, and what they were used for by the original inhabitants of the islands.  That's Shirley with the umbrella, it was raining.

Our native guide Danny describing the pictographs on Stanley Island.  Then the next day it was snorkeling on Lizard Island.

The following day it was off to Cooktown where we took a little bus ride for a tour of the town and the surrounding area.

The Cooktown cannon which they fired off for us with a resounding BOOM.

The first picture shows our mode of transportation back and forth from the ship and sometimes under severe seas.  Then after the trip was over we flew to Sydney for 2 nights and 1 full day of sightseeing. The photo shows our view of the Opera House and the ferry terminal from our hotel room.  Very impressive.

Talk about a beautiful city, just look how clean the air was and the city was just as clean.  Our hotel is at the far right.  The Opera House is on the left just out of the picture.

One of the many outdoor restaurants in Sydney, and here we were having a meal at one close to the hotel.  Notice the "look Right" sign as you step off the curb, that was strictly for the tourists who will most likely look the wrong way. Traffic keeps to the left in Australia.
We had a little half day tour of Sydney which gave us a few brief highlights of the city, there's not much you can do or see in just one day.  And finally a picture of Sarah, who became our trip mascot.

Below is a composite of some of the folks that were on the trip with us.  I was rather neglectful in getting pictures of people on this trip, there are only about 20% of the passengers represented here.  I'm sorry that I left out so many people and if anybody is offended by having there picture published let me know and I'll remove it at once.  And if anybody else would like to have a picture or two of themselves or a favorite photo taken on the trip that they would like to have published on this site, send it or them to me by e-mail and I'll see that it's included.  I would especially like to get more pictures for the montage below.
