Shirley is looking at lacquer boxes.
These were the $100 to $200 dollar variety,
Then there was the market where everything
was for sale from the fish market and the spice market. This guy
yelled at me for taking his picture so naturally I put his picture on the
web site.
More market stuff in Jaroslavl
Then the next day it was Uglich, where
there were more churches and shopping and a walking tour.
The Bolshoi Theater. A
picture of a fountain in front of a supermarket and mall.
The security queue waiting to enter
The Kremlin. Red Square,
the Kremlin is the red walls on the left.
Inside the Kremlin the yellow building
is Putin's office. One of the two churches in the Kremlin, and just to
the right of the church is the famous balcony where the Russian leaders
used to stand to give their speeches.
This church was rebuilt in the short
time of two years after the break up of the Soviet Union, June of
'92.
Again, Red Square and the facade of
Gum Department Store. Shirley in front of the Kremlin walls.
And finally our table and the wonderful friends that made the trip so much more pleasant. In the back is Dan and across from him Bonnie, they're from Florida. In the center is Somner and across from him Fiby, they're from California. Again I thank you folks for making this trip so much more pleasant than it would have been otherwise. I really looked forward to the many meals we had with you, to chitchat, and of course the wine was pretty good too.
Some of the tickets for the various
side trips. The one on the left was for the Ballet, Sleeping Beauty,
in St. Petersburg. The price on the ticket was 900 Rubles, about
$30. I have no idea what we paid, it was part of the pakage.
The other 2 were for camera use inside the museums or churches. The
top one is about $1. The one below about $.75.
This one was for the Moscow Circus.
The price on the ticket about $9. Row 4 seat 32.
That's about it for this trip, so keep
watching for the next trip I'm sure it will come along real soon.
